2014 Breeding Groups

There will be three rams used this year; Ferdinand, his son Thunder Cheeks, and Sting. The following are their groups.

Breeding Ram: Ferdinand

Ferdinand during his second fall, taken 09.01.2014

Ferdinand (CLRC Number: -[CAN]677982-H) was an exceptionally fast growing and heavy built 2012 ram lamb. He has huge, nicely spaced horns. His chest and forequarters are stout and wide with exceptionally straight front legs, and his hindquarters have good width. His wool is very dense and soft in the thel, with not terribly abundant but very curly tog. He is a lazy, laid back ram that doesn’t want to cause any trouble, and is a gentleram with the ladies. He is moorit, homozygous grey, and likely does not carry spotting. He has very consistently passed heavy muscling to his offspring, and those exceptionally straight, stout forequarters.

Breeding Ram: Sting

Sting at a year and a half old, taken 09.26.2013.

Sting (CLRC Number: -[CAN]685091-H) is an extremely handsome ram with the best hindquarters on the farm. They are huge, wide, and straight. He is average across the chest and back, but well put together for an overall very aesthetic presentation. His conformation is very correct. His wool is superb, and is thus far non silvering. he also has the most distinct mouflon pattern I have seen, with a very nice spotting pattern to accent it. He is black and potentially carries moorit from his father (50% chance), but as he’s never had any offspring yet, we don’t know for certain.
